IMPORTANT: 2012 MAGNOLIA LITTLE LEAGUE PLAYER TRYOUTS (Evaluations)

AAA & Majors Evaluations 2/11 & 2/12

Details:

AAA & Majors Evaluations 2/11 & 2/12

Player tryouts for Majors and AAA will be Saturday 2/11 and Sunday 2/12, rain or shine. All players (even returning players) must attend their scheduled tryout to be drafted onto a AAA or a Majors Team.

Tryouts will be at Field #2 (across from Albertsons).

Schedule:

9:00 Saturday 2/11 - All AAA players and new Majors players with last name beginning A-L

11:30 Saturday 2/11 - All Returning Majors players (players who played in the Majors in 2011)

9:00 Sunday 2/12 - All AAA players and new Majors players with last name beginning M-Z

1:00 Sunday 2/12 - Extra session for any players not able to attend an earlier session

What to bring: Players should come with gloves, cleats, and attire to participate in the skills evaluations. Bats and helmets will be provided.

Skills to be evaluated: Running the bases, Fielding infield grounders and throwing to 1st Base, Fielding outfield flys and throwing to the infield, hitting live pitching and laying down a bunt.

2012 Registration is now open! To register your player(s) for the 2012 season click on the "Registration Policies" folder here on our website. The link to the registration portal is down at the bottom of the page along with a link to the 2012 Little League Age Chart.

BEFORE YOU BUY A BAT:IMPORTANT- If you are planning to buy a Baseball Bat for your player it is important to follow the rules and guidelines for Little League Baseball Bats. If a bat does not fall within the approved guidelines it may not be used for any MLL sanctioned activities including practices and games. Many parents have inquired as to what is legal and with the holidays quickly approaching here is some information to help you as you shop. Quick summary of Rule 1.10 regarding baseball bats:

Rule 1.10 - Baseball - The bat must be a baseball bat which meets Little League specifications and standards as noted in this rule. It shall be a smooth, rounded stick and made of wood or of material and color tested and proved acceptable to Little League standards.

Little League (Majors) and below: it shall not be more than thirty-three (33) inches in length nor more than two and one-quarter (2ΒΌ) inches in diameter. Non-wood bats shall be labeled with a BPF (bat performance factor) of 1.15 or less; EXCEPTION: For the 2011-2012 Little League (Majors) and A list of approved and licensed composite bats can be found on the Little League website at www.littleleague.org.
