Thank YOU!

Over the weekend of Feb 9th, we completed the 2013 AAA and Majors Skills Evaluations. Thank you to everyone especially our coaches, managers, and Commissioners for your extra effort to make the weekend a great success. Above all else, it appeared the kids had a great time!

Next: Majors Draft- Feb 13th, AAA Draft Feb 26th, March 23rd- PARADE!

NEW! Board Advisory Committee:

We've established advisory committees for each age Division. (T-Ball, FP, A, AA, AAA, Majors) Each division advisory committee is made up of a subset of MLL board members. The purpose of the committee(s) is to focus on enhancing the player experience and instruction at each age level. The committees will be making ongoing recommendations to the entire board regarding changes to our local rules for T-Ball through AAA with a focus on instruction and balanced competition. The advisory committees will support the Commissioners throughout the season.

NEW & ENHANCED!

Coaches Training:

MLL will be implementing a new progressive Coach training program in 2013. (OPTIONAL). We will be providing special training sessions for coaches both new and old relative to each age division and based on coach experience. The training program will be in coordination with Mark Linden (Baseball Positive). More information will be provided soon. The program begins before the season.

Coach Tools:

MLL will soon be posting a Coaches Handbook that will also be included in their equipment bags. The handbook will coincide with our new Coach Training program and will provide coaches at all levels a guide that covers topics such as:

v How to run an effective and fun practice

v Baseball instruction guide

v Team and Parent communications

v MLL's approach to the game and communication resources for coaches and players.

v Coach resources (Commissioner, MLL Advisory Committee, Instruction Tools)

NEW! Special Pre-Season Coach & Commissioner Meeting:

While we will still host what we typically call the 'BIG COACHES MEETING" to kick off the season and satisfy our Safety Information responsibilities as a member of Little League International, we will be adding an additional pre-season meeting to include coaches, commissioners, and the MLL Advisory Committee. This mandatory but much requested meeting will be a season kick-off forum for coaches and commissioners to detail coaching resources, league expectations relative to instruction, fair play, and to address specific questions and concerns.
